Reading its Wikipedia entry it sounds like Overhaulin’ crossed with the earlier series of Wheeler Dealers when they would test drive an already restored version of the car they were working on. I wasn’t a big fan of the “pranks” that Overhaulin’ did so I’m not sure I’d like it as much as you do.

I like Fuzz Townsend he’s informative and entertaining and Tim Shaw can be too but Tim’s antics are often cringeworthy when he’s trying to blag a deal.
But the same can be said of Mike Brewers in Wheeler Dealers. I like Edd China.

What if Edd China teamed up with Fuzz Townsend? That would be fantastic.

The shit they do on Overhauling seems unnecessarily cruel at times even though I’m 99% sure that it’s all bollocks and they know. Where as on Car SOS the pranks are just glorified reveals and tend to be short and sweet. Plus the owners often tend to recognise the guy which is kind of funny.

I think these shows need a bit of comic relief even if it gets a bit cringe worthy. Not sure how teaming up would work but I would love to see them go head to head.

If it doesn’t feature people screaming at each other because of trumped up fake drama then it would already be better than 90% of the car programming that’s on, so I’d definitely give it a shot.

Also, the only thing I don’t like about Wheeler Dealers is their magical accounting method, where somehow labour, rare connections with people in the car fixing/parts business and all the damn tools they use don’t factor in.
I mean, I could afford to fix up a broken Ferrari 575M or something for less than 40 grand, if I didn’t have to worry about labour lol
